There are many Louis Vuitton bags that I like looking at, but that does not always mean I would actually buy them.
These are a few Louis Vuitton bags I like, but would probably leave in the shop.
Nano Frivole Bag
The Nano Frivole feels very Y2K and trend-focused. For me, it looks like the kind of bag you buy mainly because a certain style is popular at the moment.
It is also extremely small, so it is not going to fit very much. I also think the design makes it look slightly cheap, especially for the price.
It is not dressy enough to work as a proper evening bag, but it is also not practical enough for everyday use. If you really love the Y2K aesthetic, it might work for you. Otherwise, for me, it is a no.
Low Key Hobo MM
For me, the Low Key Hobo MM is simply too hobo.
It is very slouchy and relaxed, with a slightly bohemian or hippie feel. That is not really what I personally look for when buying a Louis Vuitton bag.
I would rather buy a proper leather hobo bag from another brand. The design does not immediately feel like Louis Vuitton to me, and that makes me question the point of paying Louis Vuitton prices for it.
Some people may like the understated design, but it does not feel special enough for me.
Speedy Bandoulière 35 and 40
In theory, the Speedy Bandoulière 35 and 40 look very cool. They feel like proper travel bags, and I can imagine them looking stylish at an airport or on a weekend trip.
In practice, however, I am not sure how many people can comfortably use them on a regular basis.
They are large, and once they are full, they can become very heavy. You could carry them by hand if you have strong wrists, or wear them on the shoulder or crossbody if you have a larger frame.
For me, as someone who is 5’1″, I think they would look and feel too big. If I had a lot to carry, I would probably choose a Neverfull GM instead. It may not look as structured, but it would be easier to use.
Alma BB
The Alma BB is really pretty. I completely understand why it is so popular.
However, I do not think it holds very much. It could work well as a small handbag for someone who carries very little.
The Epi leather version could also work as an evening bag because it looks cleaner and slightly more formal. The Monogram canvas version is more difficult for me.
Monogram canvas is quite casual, but the shape of the Alma BB is dressy and structured. Because of that, I am never completely sure when I would wear it.
It feels too small and formal for everyday use, but the Monogram version does not feel dressy enough for the evening. It is beautiful, but I am not sure it would fit naturally into my lifestyle.
When I buy a luxury bag, I want it to feel both special and useful. I want to know when I would carry it, what it would fit and whether it works with my lifestyle. These bags are nice to look at, but for me, they would probably not get enough use to justify the price.
What do you think? Are there any Louis Vuitton bags you like but probably would not buy? Let me know in the comments.
