Vincent Belrose – Profile

The retail industry is facing rapid technological change, and LVMH is no exception. As a mega luxury brand conglomerate with 75 brands under its wing, a revenue of €84.7 billion in 2024, and over 213,000 employees worldwide, the responsibility of the group’s technology leadership is immense. At present, Vincent Belrose serves as Group Chief Technology Officer of LVMH, reporting to Group COO Mohamed Marfouk.

Responsibility as CTO

Belrose oversees the entire tech operations and initiatives within the business. His responsibilities include enterprise architecture, integration & API, agile tooling, cloud & infrastructure, IT operations, network, workplace & collaboration, and identity & access management. Given the diverse business activities within LVMH, his role is both complex and crucial.

Traditionally, the CTO’s role focused more on back-end systems and infrastructure. However, as technology advances, the CTO’s responsibilities have become more customer-centric—not only ensuring efficient operations but also leading the integration of technologies for better customer engagement and personalization, particularly in industries like luxury retail. Belrose has held this position for more than six years, including during the pandemic, and has spearheaded various technological initiatives within the company.

Before LVMH

He graduated from École Normale Supérieure de Paris with a degree in mathematics and computer science in 1997 and from Telecom Paris in 1999. After graduating from Telecom Paris, he started his career in the Champagne-Ardenne Region as an industrial development project manager, working for both the French Ministry of Industry (as Head of the Industrial Development Division) and the Ministry of Homeland Security (as an advisor to the Prefect of the Region). He then joined the mail division of La Poste, France’s postal service company, where he held senior IT roles. Subsequently, he became CIO of CCI France (Chambres de Commerce & d’Industrie) in 2008, where he established the central IT department and IT governance. He later moved to Société Générale as Global Head of IT Governance & Strategy.

In 2013, he joined the international insurance company AXA as Director of IS Strategy, Architecture & Transformation for AXA France and CIO for Digital & Data. After three years working on modernizing core systems, implementing new technologies like Big Data, and reshaping agile and DevOps culture, he was promoted to Group CTO. In this role, he led the entire technology strategy, including API, cloud, DevOps, UX, architecture, and data management for the 154,000-employee company. His extensive experience, spanning from public offices to consumer businesses, paved the way for him to become the Group CTO of LVMH.
